Elder’s Meeting Highlights

The Elders of Kamloops Alliance met on January 18th, and the following are highlights from what was discussed.
  • We praise God for the growth our church has been experiencing over the past number of years.  This growth means we are nearing capacity of how we are currently structured.  We have tasked a sub-committee to explore various models of church growth as a first step towards planning our next steps as a church.
  • We will have a Compassionate Care Coordinator contract position filled soon.  The mandate of this role is to research how other churches of similar size and larger are meeting the compassionate care needs of their communities and propose/develop a structure that will be effective in Kamloops.
  • Giving to the community care fund has been generous and the church has been able to contribute more to church and community needs than we have in the past (such as the story below).

Hi Christine
My counselling appointment with Dana Goodman yesterday was amazing. She had wonderful insight and suggestions. Of course it was very emotional and exhausting. Lots of tears. And she prayed such a loving prayer with me. Please thank everyone for the gift of counselling sessions. I don't think I realized how much I needed it until I was there. I just can't thank the church enough. I'm very grateful.
