Advent Offering

Advent is a reminder to us all that we are people with forward focus! In the weeks leading up to Christmas, we look forward with excitement to celebrating the birth of Jesus; and, as Christians, we look forward with anticipation to the day when Jesus comes again and we get know him and experience him in his fullness.

Even with forward focus, Jesus has made it possible for us to know him and make him known now. We want to be a church who seeks to know Jesus and make him known as we join him in his plans and purposes. In light of that, we believe the Lord has called KAC to sponsor a Refugee Family.

A couple of weeks ago we introduced you to the Al Aqbi Family. Over the past couple of months we have been working through the application process with them in hopes of welcoming them here to Kamloops. With things moving along quickly, we were expecting the Al Aqbi family to arrive in early/mid 2020.

Since then we have run into a couple of challenges in the application process. It is likely that these challenges will impact our original timeline, and it may also impact the specific family we have the opportunity to sponsor.

These challenges, however, do not change our plans. So, this Advent Season, we are asking that you would be people with forward focus and continue to give generously so we are financially prepared to welcome a family to our family this coming year.
